How to Deal with Stretch Marks During Pregnancy

Just like your body, your skin is also subjected to number of changes during pregnancy. With increase in the body weight and other changes, the skin gets stretched and this results in stretch marks. Stretch marks can appear around the breasts, hips and more prominently around the stomach. Here are some ways to keep these stretch marks under control:

Get into a habit of daily skin care, even if you are not one of those types. You can apply a skin cream or moisturizer. Applying olive or vitamin rich oils is also a good idea.

Do not scratch. The marks that are just appearing get worse by scratching. Also, these parts really give you an itching sensation tempting you to scratch more.

Wear smoother and comfortable fabrics during pregnancy. Tight clothes only make you more uncomfortable and irritate your skin.

Keep pace with the seasons if you have a sensitive skin. Hormonal changes and changes in climate should no make your problems worse.

After delivery, the skin is released from pressure and appears loose. You need to continue with skin care till the stretch marks reduce. They do disappear over a period of time.
